Routesetter

Indoor climbing is one of the fastest growing sports in the world. At its heart is the routesetter; part choreographer, part engineer, part artist, routesetters work long hard days and have to be in the best shape to set climbing problems for all abilities.

Alexander Lemel, who is at the vanguard of a new wave of routesetters in the UK, is committed to pushing this profession forward as it prepares to make its Olympic debut in Tokyo 2021.
